Marking colours are the coloured markings on the body and may be or red, tan, cream or silver. Theres a slighter lighter colour of the arking colour on the underside of the legs. Solid colours include Black, Blue and liver but Blue and Liver. Blues carry the ressive gene that dilutes all black colours and pups may be born a silver/grey colour, blue colours vary from being very light to very dark. Eye colours are usualy lighter and when the pup matures it can be a yellow colour. Livers carry the reseive gene that blocks out all black pigment resulting to the dock not having any black pigment and will have brown noses rather than being black. Other colours include black and Tan, Blue and Tan and Liver and Tan, Black and cream, black and red and so on.. Bicolours are solid black, ble and liver that have markings on the bottom of their legs and sometimes above the eyes. MARKNGS : small saddle, medium saddle and a large saddle that looks like a blanket which is also known more as the blanket because of its resembleness. SABLE/AGOUT : most prefered my GSD lovers. To some sable is a colour to others its a marking its up to you to make up your own mind about that! Actualy the hair strand on a sable will be blacked tipped with sahdes of marking colours. The sable is a dominent pattern/colour and its obvious when the pup is born it is to be a sable. Sable pups change colours regulary until the pup matures. There are different sables, blacksables, red, blue, liver and silver sables. WHTES : Whites are purebred GSD they are just a fault in the show ring. They are not rare or albino. t has a ressive gene and most parents must be white to produce white pups. It has been proven that white GSD have been prooved just as healthy as coloured GSD. COATS : short coat - lies flat against the GSD body Plush coat - favoured by gsd lovers has an undercoat and a long fuller coat. Long coat/long stock - has an undercoat, with tufts found around the ears and backs of legs. Standard long coat - has no undercoat just a long soft outercoat. not very well protective against cold/wet weather and is considered a fault. Faults include blue, liver and white colours and the standard long coat. |
