e- greetings for 2004!
Discovering Jalahalli !
The city map of Bangalore
with other conference materials at the Joint India -AMS Mathematics meeting in hand, my route from city centre was by MG road, Brigade road through Kariappa park, Golf course, Various familiar Indian Academy and finally Malleshwaram for the Venue at city north, keeping the road to Yeshwantapur on left. While returning, the road to Hebbal on left, through Sadashiva nagar then Shivaji nagar towards the place, where I was staying!
The map helped me walk down to Ulsoor lake with four big islet with large trees and two small islet, added with Khajur trees, the Vivekananda park and the speed practising boats at the other end, opposite the Gurdwara! Then the map led me to the Infantry road at city east, to the palace and Fort walls at city west and pass through many churches specially St. Andrews and St. Marks Cathedral.
On 31st, the very last day of the closing year, I came to know of the existence of Jalahalli to be at Banglore through the Sirdi Saibaba Society donation collecter.
As a grand-daughter of Manindra Nath Mukhotee, Joyfully subscribing a small amount, on my fathers name, stayed and trained in Jalahalli around sixty years back, I welcome 2004!
A very happy and prosperous new year to all the visitors of this page!
