Projects forms an integral part of the professional life. It tests your ability to apply and use theoretical knowledge in the practical situations. Kaushal has done various types of projects in the area of engineering and management. He is keeping himself busy with projects and research.

Projects done by kaushal varies from self interest projects to curriculum projects to live projects.

Some of the projects were sponsored by the leading Indian and Multi national companies.

 

Management Projects:

1.    Title Of the project:        Development of statistical sales correlation model for various brands of the company in the four metro cities of India.

 Name of the organization:    Reckitt Benckiser India Limited

Brands Worked with:              Dettol, Cherry Blossom,Colin, Mortein, Harpic, Lizol,  Robin.

 

           Objectives:

To find a relationship pattern between primary sales, secondary sales, retail sales and household purchase.
To determine lag period between various sales so as to formulate effective logistics strategies.
To forecast future sales for the organization keeping in mind the time series data and market competition.

 

  2.    Research on Debit Card & Credit Card market in India and Development of branding                     strategy for HDFC Debit Card.

    Project Title: -

To study the credit card and debit card market in India and formulate branding strategy for HDFC banks debit cards.

                Objectives: -  

To know what parameters/ attributes a consumer is looking for in a debit card or a credit card.
To know the acceptance level of HDFC as a bank offering debit card and credit card.
To know what promotion activities should be used in creating a brand image for HDFC.

            Problems to be researched: - 

Awareness level and usage pattern for credit card and debit card.
Finding out the most important attributes for a debit card or a credit card.
The image HDFC carries amongst the customers.

 

3.    Segmentation study for Mortein coils.

    RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

       To segment the pest control product consumers on attitudinal and behavioral parameters

       To profile the segments on demographics , usage habits etc.

       To assess the size of each segment

       Perception of various formats of mosquito repellents basis their product efficacy

       To assess the interaction between formats

       To assess the equity of various brands in the mosquito repellent markets

RESEARCH DESIGN

 4.    Determination of Consumers' attitude towards Mineral Water-->

This project was mainly undertaken to understand the consumers attitude towards mineral water as a whole. It helped in determining various facts like how much price is the consumer ready to pay, what improvements they want, What is the usage pattern and which brand is leading and because of what factors..

         5.    Brand positioning for after shave industry-->

This project was undertaken to understand the effect of price and fragrance on the market share of the various after shave brands. A perceptual map was prepared to visualize which brand stands where. This mapping can be very much helpful while launching or relaunching or positioning the product in the market.

        6.    Marketing strategy for introducing a new hair oil-->

This project was undertaken to formulate a strategy for launching a new hair oil brand in the highly competitive hair oil market. It dealed with various aspects related to product launch like situation analysis, segmentation, targeting, positioning, product differentiation, pricing strategy, promotion strategies, advertisement strategies etc.

       7.    Soap industry : an insight & Product research : Dettol soap Vs Savlon soap-->

This study was undertaken to understand the basics of the soap market in India. It dealt extensively with the research related to Dettol soap and Savlon soap. It found out the consuming pattern, preference of the consumers, strengths and weaknesses of both of them, the most influencing sources for the various age groups and various income groups etc.

       8.    Determination of positioning platform for Lizol Phenyl.

This project was done to identify the best positioning platform for the brand lizol phenyl out of the two most appropriate positioning platforms.

 

Engineering Project:

 

1.    "Manufacturing and Mass Balancing Of Single Plate Clutch: 

With the sponsorship of Gujarat Engineering Company, Baroda this project was undertaken. Project mainly stressed on the effective and improved manufacturing techniques those can be used in manufacturing of the single plate clutch. In the second part of the project, a new concept called "Mass Balancing" was introduced. This concept helps to improve the working life of the clutch by reducing wear and tear.

2.    Manufacturing process plant layout improvement for single nozzle carburetors.

This project was aimed at reducing idle time in the assembling process and improving resuources utilization in the carburetors manufacturing company named as Jetex Carburettors Limited.

 

3.    Seminar: Implementation of ISO - 9002

A seminar on " Implementation of ISO - 9002" was conducted in the final year of production engineering. Main thrust was given on the practical implementation related areas and managing the new system in the organisation. Documentation - the most important part of any of ISO systems was also discussed in detail.

 

Currently Kaushal is busy with his latest projects on hand 

- " Detergent : Is it for real ?"

This project will try to establish certain facts related to detergent usage, consumers preferences and their expectations from the manufacturers.

 

"What do an average Indian Consumer want  :  Quality - Value - Economy ?"
