Starting in 1987, the Zelda series has become one of Nintendo's best and most classic game series running.
On average, a new game comes out every two years. The games have been released (and re-released) on a total of 8 systems, from regular, console systems to hand-held ones.
The series has also had the honor of producing, for some awards, the first perfect game ever made, and given perfect scores by IGN, Nintendo Power, GameSpot, and other reviews. The game that got this honor was none other the
ground-breaking Ocarina of Time,
the series' fifth game, and first on the Nintendo 64 system.
The most recent console game, Twilight Princess, has also been quite favored by fans, and also scoring several perfect scores from magazines and reviewers.
The Zelda series is wonderfully designed, fitted perfectly for its designated system controller, and also having well-built levels and puzzles, making the games far from frustratingly hard or easy as pie. Each game uses the well-known and loved foundation that makes a Zelda game a Zelda game and fits in new stories, characters, and ideas to escape -- successfully -- redundant and tiresome gameplay.
Each game is memorable, being the only game that doesn't have a story, but a legend.
