| Ophelia
Katy Betz With skirts flowing She runs Across battlements She flies Descending the stones Out onto the field Down through the mist And past the great forest Down, down, to a place Of her youth Where she shared loves Of her past Singing a song of Remembrance Or her love who Loves her not Then with skirts And flowers And long hair Flying, She dives into Murky depths Held down by Voluminous skirts. She no longer is. And one tiny flower Still moves In the current It soars Entwining itself Inside of Her tresses, it also Is submerged Both flower no More They both float Above the depths (Of water, or of life) Ninth Grade: Haikus Katy Betz Red ripping leaf tips Shake off jewels shining of light Frost traps the color Deep and dark forest Secrets of light and shadow Needles are silent Blue, blue, bubbling ocean White caps like whipped cream Dolphins soar through air Last glowing sun-drops Reflect in the silver pond Rays shine down on earth |
