| 2002 STATE CONVENTION AT PIPESTEM Our State Association finances are stable thanks to the injection of cash from last year's dues increase. Your District 1 delegates were disappointed that the majority of convention delegates voted to increase spending in some areas. We felt that we should keep our belts tightened unless an expense was unavoidable. The Eastern Area is monitoring unscheduled leave (sick, lwop, annual). If you have 2 instances of using leave that is not pre-approved, you can expect discipline. If you are threatened with discipline, contact your local, area, or state steward immediately. These need to be grieved. Some MPOO's have decreed that rural carriers must complete their routes within the evaulation every day. In the contract, Art. 8, Section 2: The carrier's work day may vary above or below the daily evaluation of the route as mail volume fluctuates and road and weather conditions change. If this becomes an issue for you, contact a steward. |
