Sin for Salvation?
How far would you go for salvation?  Would you sacrifice your plane ticket into Heaven so someone else can get in?  Surprisingly, it seems as though more and more people are sinning daily.  These people, however, are sinning in the name of their God.  Maybe if we looked at the picture of sinning, the study of how Jesus's words are not being heeded, and how preachers have become some of the worse representatives of how society should live their lives in God's name, then maybe we can understand about how some of these people are trading in their plane ticket into Heaven.

According to the Greeks, as stated in the History Channel's documentary of "Gods and Goddesses", the idea of "sin" is not living to a person's potential.  Today, it is disobeying the rules stated in society or religion.  The most familiar use of this term may be within the Christian book of rules called "The Bible".  Within the Bible, it contains some of the major sins, the stories behind them, and the consequences a person or group of people face.  However, this and other religious books can be twisted around into whichever form society may take of such abstract writings.

The Golden Rule, created by Jesus Christ, seems to be taken with less seriousness in today's society.  The basic translation of this rule is "treat others as you want to be treated."  However, how many of us follow this belief?  Do those who protest abortions want people to protest against them?  Do those who forcefully protest that their religion is right through war or fights or arguments want others to fight against them?  Do those who protest homosexuality want homosexuals protestings against heterosexuality?  So many protests are carried out within God's name and it makes me wonder about the quote from Savages Garden's "
Affirmation".  Does God endorse T.V. evangelists?

Some of the worse judgement calls on what is sinful and what God wants seem to come from the main source of this belief:  The preachers.  Preachers are a great source of teaching about the word of God and of the greatness of the Christian religion, but they seem to allow personal matters to interfere with their teachings.  Some preachers protested the
Harry Potter series due to the spell casting which some preachers link to Wiccanism and other Pagan religions.  Many protested the Animorphs series because of the Native American belief from their old religion of changing into animals.  This is not only eliminating the potential of creating a literate society, but it is pushing away the heritage of those with Native American ancestry.  In the days of the Civil War, preachers have rearranged their preaching of the Bible to support the ownership of slaves.

Christians, have faith in your religion.  I have faith in it, and in the fact that I might be able to teach the younger generation the concept of "fiction" in books.  You can speak your opinion on such issues as Abortion or Homosexuality, but do not bring God into your battle.  Other ways of saving those you think may go to Hell for their beliefs can be through prayer or through talking to them about the good God has done for you and not about the bad other religions possess.  God has the power to change the world.  He has his reasons for creating good and evil.  Do not judge, but give an opinion and respect their opinion for they could be right.  Please do not become forceful just so you can give someone else your golden palace.  There is room for both of you if you talk to them and pray.
