This is a drawing I did of my favorite baseball player, David Segui. He is "My Boy" (still) even though, as of July 28th, 1999, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for two pitchers. That day went down as one of THE saddest days of my life. I was inspired by this man to pick up my art pencils and work hard to achieve something I had only dreamed before...that being to become an Artist. I loved his work ethics; always woking hard to do his very best each day. I also loved the way he was poetry in motion out there on 1st base...something I even told him on a couple of occasions, to which he laughed and said, "Thanks, I appreciate that", then smiles at me. Yes, I will miss watching him play day in and day out for the Mariners, but he will forever live on in my heart and in my memory as the person who inspired my dreams. |
