| You know how they say "good things come to those who wait?" Well, is this drawing worth the ten months everyone had to wait to see it completed? Sorry it took so long. The inspiration for this piece came on April 20th, 2001, at which time I was privilaged to see Jerry perform at the Moore Theater in Seattle, Washington. His encore brought a HUGE grin to my face. From the darkness emerged Jerry donning a little boy grin and holding up a Mariner's jersey; one he received for singing the National Anthem that afternoon before the game in SafeCo Field. I will never forget the sight...and so I decided to memorialized it by doing this piece of art. *A little note...as I did with the previous Jerry drawing, there will be prints made of this piece. And a side note to that statement: my scanner is too small to capture the entire drawing, so what you don't see here is the detail I put into the Les Paul guitar Jerry is playing. It will show in the prints, however.* |
