 SPECIAL NOTICE:
This utility is in early stages of testing and as such it may not perform
as stated. Feedback as to its performance is appreciated and can be sent

No technical assistance can be given nor is any offered at this time.

 INTRODUCTION:
This is a simple windows program for the fast creation of basic wall images as
used in dreams for the on-line game FURCADIA (www.furcadia.com). It will not
create the 'wall.fsh' file nor will it set the positions. This will have to be
done manually. The program was created using Delphi 5 and has been tested on
   WindowsME only...

 OPENING IMAGES:
Select [ FILE..>OPEN ] on the main menu to open any standard windows bmp image. It is
STRONGLY ADVISED YOU BACKUP YOUR IMAGES before using this utility. The imported image
will be resized to the default settings of 64 for height, 3 for thickness and 32 for
   the shadow length...

 CHANGING WALL HEIGHT:
The wall height can be changed from a minimum of 16 to a maximum of 132 pixels high.
Use the scrollbar beneath the Wall Height Label on the panel to the right to change
the height. The results are shown immediately in the image view window...

 CHANGING WALL THICKNESS:
The wall thickness can be changed from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 32 in steps
of 2. Use the scrollbar beneath the Wall Thickness Label on the panel to the right
to change the thickness. The results are shown immediately in the image view window...

 CHANGING SHADOW LENGTH:
The wall shadows can be changed from a minimum of 32 to a maximum of 132 pixels long.
Use the scrollbar beneath the Shadow Length Label on the panel to the right to change
the shadow length. The results are shown immediately in the image view window...

 RESETTING DEFAULT SETTINGS:
The default settings can be reapplied the the images at any time by clicking the
Defaults button on the panel to the right, below the three adjustment scrollbars...

 CHANGING SHADOW TYPES:
There are three selection as to the type of shadow that can be cast. They are,
No Shadows, Adjacent Walls, and Stand Alone. The No Shadows selection does just that,
cast no shadows. The Adjacent Walls selection will cast shadows that do not
interfere with adjacent walls. The Stand Alone selection will cast a shadow as if the
wall was standing alone with no other walls around it. The best way to see the results
of these selections is to try them on an imported image. Changes made to the type
of shadow cast are shown immediately in the image view window...
NOTE: The shadows cast by QuickWalls are very rudimentary and do not take into account
window or door openings. The shadows can be edited in an external program to allow for
the appearance of a window or door...

 CHANGING TEXTURE STYLE:
There are two different ways the imported image can be applied to the wall. These are
Extruded and Wrap Around. The Extruded selection will produce a look as if the images
were stacked in front of each other. The Wrap Around selection will wrap the image
around the edges, applying it to the top and sides. Changes to the texture type are
shown immediately in the image view window...
NOTE: The Wrap Around texture style is not available with this version...

 WINDOW AND DOOR OPENINGS
Quick Walls cannot do window or door openings at this time. However, if you color
in the opening with pure white (RGB 255,255,255) then import it into Quick Walls,
when the image is imported into the FSHEditor you can flood fill the opening
with the transparent color and then clean up the inner door or window frames...

 VIEWING IMAGES CREATED:
QuickWalls creates very basic wall and junction images. These images do not necessarily
need to be used as walls. You might want to create a hedge row, tree or perhaps a fence.
Try using QuickWalls for different projects...
The images created can be viewed in the Image View Window. Use the scrollbar at the
bottom to scroll left or right to view all the images created...

 SAVING WALL IMAGES:
Click [ FILE..>SAVE ] on the main menu to display the save dialog box. There are two
sections to the dialog. There is a Save To Folder selection box and a Select Images
selection box. In the Save To Folder selection box, select the folder you want the
images saved to. In the Select Images selection box, you can select the individual
images you want to save. A Select All button and a Deselect All button are provided
as a convenience. The selected images will be saved with the filename shown and in
the folder selected. QuickWalls will overwrite any file in the folder with the
same name so make sure you want to do that...
Please backup your original images before using this utility...thank you...

 COLOR PALETTE INFORMATION:
The wall images created are saved as True Color (24 bit - 16 million color)
windows bmp files. This helps keep the colors as close as possible to the original
image when imported into FURCADIA's FSHeditor which converts the images to it's own
palette of only 236 usable colors. The color white (RGB 255,255,255) when used as the
background of your images should appear as transparent when imported into
   FURCADIA's FSHeditor...
