INTRODUCTION: This is a simple windows program for the fast creation of a basic font for use with dreams for the on-line game FURCADIA (www.furcadia.com). It creates a bmp file with the Furcadian palette applied and a generic font.ini file... The bmp image created must be converted to an pcx image before it can be used... later versions may take care of this for you... Avoid using fonts with little room between letters (such as most script type fonts) and keep the size within reason... I have limited the size of font that can be selected but this is only a guideline... This font utility may not accurately map some unicode characters but will display them if found... the user must accept the resposiblity for the usability of the font selected... Also, the image created must be no greater than 640x480 pixels... The startup screen requires the arial font file be installed on your system... INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip into any folder you wish... the utility is a stand alone application and makes no changes to your system... You should have the arial font installed for the opening screen to display correctly but selecting any true type font will work... After startup, click 'Font' then click 'Font Select'... choose from the fonts displayed, set the size, set the style and pick a color... Color will map to the closest Furcadian color... click OK... the Set Baseline Dialog will appear... use the scrollbar to place the baseline where you want it... click OK... changes will appear on the main form... Select 'File' - 'Save As'... then name the font... The program will save the font as a bmp file and create a generic font.ini file of the same name... change the bmp into a pcx file and copy into your dream folder along with the font.ini file... be sure both the pcx and font.ini file have been named for the Furcadian font you are using them to replace... Good luck and have fun..! VERSION INFORMATION: This is version 0.1.0.0 copyright Siberian Ice - 2005. This is FREEWARE. If you paid anything for this software, you've been ripped..!
