| The Glass Menagerie tells the story of a St. Louis family who play out their individual escapes from the societal anonynimity into which they have fallen, during the Great Despression of the late 1930s. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| The Glass Menagerie toured the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland (ADCI) Festival Circuit (Open Section) at the following festivals: Derry: 29 Feb, Cavan: 9 March, Roscommon: 12 March, Tubbercurry: 13 March, Claremorris: 14 March, Ballyshannon: 15 March, Claregalway: 1 April, Scariff: 3 April. Each festival is adjudicated, and points awarded at the end of the festival for 1st (12pts), 2nd (5pts) and 3rd (2pts) best play. The top nine plays in the country advanced to the All-Ireland Open Finals in Athlone in May. KATS qualified for Athlone this year with 3 festival wins (maximum possible 36 points). Miriam Pettit won a coveted Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal of Laura Wingfield. |
