(as always, UNDER CONSTRUCTION!)
This is a page where I put all the stuff I like, hoping I might influence society (or, anybody that actually looks at my page) to try these things. And if you've already looked at my 'STUFF' page, NO, this isn't the same thing. It's different! Yes, it IS! There is NO similarity between THAT page that has a bunch of stuff I like and THIS page that has a bunch of stuff I like...
* Faking a yawn just to see if someone else yawns after you do!
* Pride & Predjudice by Jane Austen. This is a depiction of two stubborn people who are finally forced to put aside their pride and look at the other without prejudice. What a beatuful love story! And Colin Firth is so handsome as Mr. Darcy in the 1996 BBC prodction! Here he is, fencing. Click on him to visit a world dedicated to those who are obsessed "with all things Austen."
* Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Too big to define! I've went two years in a row. Some may find it commercialized, but I overlook that. Click on the sword to check out their website (fabulous photos!):
* Chip Davis & Mannheim Steamroller. Never heard of it? I'm not surprised. It's a group of people (can't really call them a BAND, but you can if you want to) that make music. Wait, no. Not just music, but beautiful sounds that makes you feel good to be alive. GREAT Christmas music!!! Click on the steamroller below to visit their website:
* Bendy Straws. You really can't have enough bendy straws
* WINTER. ...but then again, how can I really RECOMMEND winter? It isn't something that you can shove in a person's face and say, "Here, try it, you'll like it." I guess all I can say is you have to EXPERIENCE winter (especially in Minnesota, much more glorious than Wisconsin) to know what I'm talking about here. I onyl wish I had a scanner so I could put some of my photos on here...
* Marquette University. Yep, definitely recommend it. That's where I am right now! Click on the steeple of Marquette Hall to visit MU's website:
* Big families. They always make things more interesting.
* Pat McCurdy. Now, he might be a little vulgar and have a twisted sense of humor, but he sure knows how to lighten up mid-terms week! He is a musician in the Wisconsin area, but he has made a few trips to Minnesota and Illinois. Here is a cartoon he drew; you can click on it to go to Pat's homepage:
* Writing on dusty cars: "This car looks like a fart" It gets 'em everytime. And when they ask if you did it, say it was your friend, Corky. WHAT? Didn't you just see him run behind the Salad Shooter Factory? Oh, for crying out loud, don't tell me you didn't see him. You actually think it was me???
* Automatic Car Washes. It's entertainment in itself! Just sit back and watch the pink suds slide down the windshield, feel the water pound the roof, and to come out all clean and dry. Plus, you get that crummy "This car looks like a fart" washed off...
* Chia Pets. And if you can't figure out why anyone would like them, then I don't like YOU!
