My Poetry
Here are a few of my poems:
Two Halves Become Whole one heart split in two about six years ago two halves departed so the pain wouldn't show for a while each half was devastated but then slowly each one recuperated both of them finally reentered the race and life went on at a dizzying pace eventually each one thought they were the same until one day they happened to meet again each half remembered what it was like to be whole and yearned to let the other one know as a summer passed the feeling grew stronger the halves didn't want to be alone any longer one half confessed feelings that had been ignored the other half rejoiced for the two were restored finally the two halves were once again whole life was as it should be with no one alone one thing was for sure the heart was much better and hopefully the halves would be together forever
Another Day Another day has come and gone Another twilight follows the dawn Another heart begins to break Somewhere out in time and space Another life slowly comes to an end Another soul loses a dear friend Another puddle gathers up tears As the days turn into years
Oblivion My oblivion has just begun, redemption is the compensation. Eternity is so dear to me, but heaven remains irrelevant. My abyss contains no bliss, infinity is all that I see. Disaster seems retreating faster, and sorrow flees until tomorrow. My containment turns into disdainment, diluded shapes have just escaped. Lies die and love stays alive, and forever never becomes an ember.
This poem won 3rd place in the 2002 MSU College of Engineering Poetry Contest:
Millenium Are all our thoughts, are all our dreams so wrong? How can our memories still know the words to the song? The dawn is decending, but we can't hold back the night. No one can ever win if we all give up the fight. We need those miracles; they happened a long time ago. But the passions stay alive if we just believe them so. We need to keep faith, everyone must truly believe if we want to heal and help the blind to see. Somebody help us, for the battle is almost won. It wouldn't be right to say we've just begun. We gave so much effort-- time after time we did. But was it enough, or is there more left to give? Look at the lonely people. Can we recruit them to our side? How can we expect to, if we all run and hide? We need to save them, to help them share our sights. They need to hear us so they might thrive in the light. How can they understand? How can we make them realize? We have the same rights-- some that we don't exercise. We must not fail them now. They need to experience love. But we cannot force them, only give a little shove. The times are relentless, sometimes it's a harsh reality. Don't challenge the truth, because it's all we have to keep. Only true perseverance can clench our victory. So what's there to stop us, we, the ones who can see? We will be the victors when the final war is won. We just have to show them what they can become. They need to see this to shed their uncertainty. All that we have to offer will surely set them free. The struggle for freedom has brought them so near. We can reach out and touch them if we let go of our fear. Nothing can halt us, contentment is ours to achieve. Soon we will live in harmony with no more hatred to conceive. Weapons and armor will soon be laid to rest, as soon as we conquer and pass this final test. They are the victims and this warfare is solely for them. After all, they deserve help, for they are our friends. We will not perish. We won't surrender to the enemy. Success will be our, when everyone finally believes.
Loneliness I don't miss you I miss being loved I miss being held kissed, touched I long for the empty feeling inside to disappear letting the warm rays of the sun to dry away these cold tears I don't need you I need to feel whole a part of something I need someone someone to listen A shoulder to cry on I ache for the tender feeling of someone who cares These waves engulf me with this feeling of nothingness and emptiness leaving me alone and bare I stumble away from the churning whitecaps in a humble retreat back into the lonely world that embraces me with cold uncaring arms
Sweet Dreams I close my eyes and I see you I close my eyes and I feel you near me Your heat beats in time with mine We're alone together just you and I Time stands still the universe is here now I wake up and you're gone but the sweet memory lingers I go through the day and remember how we met last night in my dreams
