Almost any one can get into suny morrisville norwich (I aint sure
bout other community colleges or even the main campus) as long as
they're atleast 16. U dont even need a GED. Alls u gots to do is go
and ask to take the asset test. U can only take it once so if u fail,
u aint gettin in without a GED, but if ya pass U get accepted into
school there. U still gotta get a GED but ya have a year or so before
they bug ya about it. But the phat thing is that if for whatever reason
they wont let ya take GED classes at BOCES through the HS, u can get
accepted into a COLLEGE with no GED. Once you been accepted into a
college by NY state law they gotta let u take the GED. So it all works
out. Only thing u gotta worry bout then is whether or not u quallify
to get financial aid. This is money that includes grants (free money
from the government, u only pay it back if u flunk out) and loans
(money ya gotta pay back when u all done with school) to pay ya tuition
and for livin expenses. There's 2 grant programs ya gonna need to
know about TAP (tuition assistance program by ny state) and PELL (from
the federal govn't). If u get full aid from both (and are a FULL time
student) then after tuition you'll probly get about $1500 a semester
for books and livin expenses and shit. plus u can take out loans too.
Ya probly wanna goto school full time which is 12 credits a semester
(12 hours a week). U can arrange your schedual with a lot more freedom
than in HS, like I only got classes 3 days a week and I picked all
classes I thought I'd like. And best of all U get treated with a Whole
lot more respect than at HS. There aint lots of dumb little rules,
you aint gonna get no detentions for stupid little shit, and the teachers
are real friendly. Usually u'r on a first name basis with all the
staff.
