Terry County Courthouse located in
Brownfield at 5th and Main Streets.


Terry County's first jail was erected in 1916
on the Southeast corner of the courthouse
square. It was replaced in 1926 by a jail
located on the top floor of the courthouse.
It became the property of A. T. Fowler who
moved it to his farm in the 1940s. The jail was
donated to the Terry County Heritage Museum
in 1974 by the Fowler family and is now part
of the museum complex located at 608 East
Cardwell in Brownfield, Terry County, Texas.

A. M. Brownfield, an early Terry County rancher, built
this structure for his family in 1928. It is now a part of
the Terry County Heritage Museum Complex located
at 608 East Cardwell in Brownfield, Terry County, Texas.
It is a recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
