Gilley Girls Dancing Greyhounds
In Memory of Sweetness Nov 1990 - Sept 2002
The founder of the Dancing Greyhound Drill Team, she was the our first Greyhound.  Sweet was adopted in 1993 and her first public performance was at the Greyhound Hall of Fame at the invitation of the National Greyhound Association In 1994.  In 1995 and 2001 she starred in segments on Animal Planet.  In 1996, she anchored the debut performance of the Dancing Greyhounds for the Greyhound Pets of America National Convention, Birmingham, Alabama.  Sweet was a designated "Celebrity Dog" for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  She performed in 26 states and three Canadian provinces.  This dark brindle female choreographed all the Dancing Greyhound original material.

Sweetness led the Team in shows at schools, nursing homes, Greyhound picnics/gatherings, hospitals, parades, libraries and animal shelter fund raisers.  She appeared at 16 tracks on behalf of adoption. She spent over 163,666 motorhome miles promoting the benefits of having a Greyhound.  Her broad spectrum personality allowed her to be as loving as she was sassy, funny, condescending, very demanding, loud, impatient and highly innovative. In her early years, she specialized in gravity-defying jumps and leaps.  As a senior, she took up Dog Stealing, the "basket of gold," the fun noodle chase, and continued to critique everyone's performance at the top of her lungs.
