| Before the end of my first cycle of writing, I wrote another long story of Kat's contrived glory. In this particular adventure, she is invited to the city of Mipia on the island of Sorcia to meet a few other women close to her age and with the same general religious affinity. This ultimately becomes a gathering of 16 young, scantly-clad women who have become famous for acts of heroism and chivalry in their home nations. Together the girls tell stories of battles gone by, lives they saved, people who died, all the while showing off their weapons, and participating in an excessive amount of prayer and worship and an equally excessive amount of kissing each other on the hands and foreheads when and where appropriate. It is here that Kat meets Clara Wallace II, from the island of Trillan; the date is May 2, 1997. That day, I decided, as with the case of Kat, that Clara -- named after Clara Barton, the cofounder of the American Red Cross -- should be 17 years old, her birthdate on the same day as the day I introduced her. Clara originally was part of the royal Trillanian order of soldiers called "guardians," who were created in order to protect their king and queen. She was also a devout Methodist. In her debut appearance at the gathering in Mipia, she becomes a very close friend of Kat. Like Kat, she also dressed rather oddly; she wore white sashes to cover her privates, as well as a pair of white gloves. As in The Adventures of Kat and Clara, Clara also carried a huge sword with a giant blue sapphire socketed into the handle. In due time, she would encounter a young man named Salem, a character who you will find in the story. The writing of stories of Kat and Clara continued until April of 1999; this also marked the end of an era. The final three stories of this period, which were all long and exhaustive, involved Kat going through a difficult period in her life; she is arrested and charged with murder (for reasons that I won't even begin to go into), then she kills the prison guard and escapes. Fleeing the island, in fear of being executed, she kidnaps a friend from Sorcia -- a white pantheress named Admiral (named for being born on a ship) -- and forces her at swordpoint to take her to the island of the cat warriors (visited once or twice in previous adventures). It is here she becomes a cat warrior named Myrian. After two months, she is banished under strange circumstances. She then ends up on another island, taking up residence with a lioness exotic dancer/bondagette named Felicia. (Gee, it already sounds pornographic.) Kat, now under the name of Beauty (I ran out of cool names), is taught the aspects of such a profession. (I should point out, by the way, that this was the point at which my writing became less cute and more violent and erotic.) Descriptions of nudity and secondary sex characteristics follow, as well as poor descriptions of assorted bondage silliness and feline girl-on-girl action. There were also some new characters added, including a black-velvet-clad jaguaress named Erica, who not only wishes to join Felicia and Kat in being an exotic dancer, but also has a light yet uncontrollable addiction to cocaine. Thank goodness that this period of writing didn't last too long; it was so stupid, I wanted to throw my computer out the window. It didn't, however, deter me from writing about Kat and Clara in the future. However, after I started college in August of 1999, I was completely unable to come up with any new stories involving my favorite two characters. That was until the spring of 2002. That March, I picked up the main book for a roleplaying game called Ironclaw, the first notably successful furry RPG, which was created by Sanguine Productions in 1999. At the same time, I was hired for a job at Iams in Lewisburg, OH, for the summer, and I would be away from my bass, and my Ironclaw book, all summer. After writing some unrelated material about cat warriors and trying to create a whole new world, I decided that it would be appropriate to start writing again while in Dayton, OH (25 minutes from Lewisburg). What emerged was The Adventures of Kat and Clara, a new continuing story of my beloved characters. It was now that I set their ages to 21 and 22 years, the ages they would have been in the summer of 2002, when I went to work at Iams. Neither of them are now as religiously insane as they were 5 years ago; now they are simply just religious with gentle hearts. I was sure now that I wanted to write about Kat and Clara, not Attorney General John Ashcroft. I now put Kat and Clara into the chief religion of Ironclaw, the Penitence of S'Allumer (copyright 1999, Sanguine Productions, all rights reserved), and gave them some new personas and clothing. I also dropped their last names, keeping only first names, with no hint of their family names. That is the history of The Adventures of Kat and Clara in its most generalized form. I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as have enjoyed writing it and coming up with all this stuff. Have fun with it while you can; for all we know, it won't be long before entire segments of the story are devoted to kinky sex. --Maj the Jaguar (a.k.a.
