| July 7, 2001 NMSU tailgating lot This was a great day of launches, as the FLARE flight days usually are. Lots of great flights and some nasty ones to pepper up the morning. ROCKET: Y.I.F.F. I LAUNCH: 10 MOTOR USED: D12-3 SUMMARY: Good launch and recovery. Probably reached close to 700'. ROCKET: Y.I.F.F. I LAUNCH: 11 MOTOR USED: D12-3 SUMMARY: Another good flight, but the secondary parachute (the 12") ripped and was destroyed. The rocket still recovered safely and damage-free on its main 24" parachute. ROCKET: Y.I.F.F. I LAUNCH: 12 MOTOR USED: D12-3 SUMMARY: Great flight, probably the best one in several launch sessions. Ejection right at apogee. DAMAGE REPORT: 12" parachute destroyed, may replace later. |
