| Trendalloy Dental Amalgam Powder | ||||
| Introduction: Trendalloy dental amalgam powder is a modern lathe-cut high Copper alloy . It consists of micro-fine particles with a homogeneous composition showing a relatively high copper and low silver content. The handling characteristics are comparable to a conventional amalgam: sufficient condensation pressure should be applied. The amalgam made of Trendalloy is free from the corrosion-prone and weak gamma 2 phase. Durable restorations with a lasting luster can be made. Composition: Ag 45.01% Sn 30.99% Cu 24.00% Trendalloy alloy complies with the latest version of the ISO 1559 and ADA No. 1 specifications. Directions for use: Mixing: It should be noted that the working and hardening times will be somewhat different, depending on the type of mixer used: a high-energy mixer gives a faster hardening. The mixed amalgam should be a plastic, coherent mass with a shiny surface. The recommended mixing proportion for Trendalloy is: 10 parts of alloy/10.3 parts of mercury by weight Mixing time in Dentomat/Duomat:30-35 sec Average setting for correct alloy/mercury ratio: Note: the speed of the mixer is in most cases fixed by the manufacturer of the mixer. The times indicated are for our guidance and will depend on the age of the mixer. Insertion and condensation: After mixing, the amalgam should immediately be inserted into the cavity using an amalgam carrier. Build up the filling in layers under adequate condensation pressure and remove excess mercury. Use a plugger of approx. 1.5 mm. Finishing and polishing: Approx. 8-10 minutes after mixing. The filling can be finished. Polishing should be done in a subsequent session. |
