The Family Tree...
Gundam Wing has many characters, each almost as
important as the next, each somehow linked with all the others.
Here, I'm going to try to explain exactly how they all interlink.
The words in italic are there because I don't want/ can't be bothered to write a
page on them.
The Main Family.
I myself find the Barton/Khushrenada family to be one of the most confusing
families. It is not because the family consists of millions and millions of
people, but due to the fact I just find it confusing.
Members of this family include: Treize Khushrenada, Mariemaia Khushrenada, Dekim Barton, Laia Barton/Khushrenada( It is uncertain if Treize ever married her), Trowa Barton ( the original), Dorothy Catalonia, Duke Dermail,
The part I find confusing: How is Dorothy involved? And Duke
Dermail?
Technically, Dorothy is Treize's niece. Niece. Thus, Duke Dermail (her
grandfather) must be some kind of relation to him, check? As he is her
grandfather. Does this logically mean that Duke Dermail is his.... dad?
Considering Dekim Barton is Laia's father... Wait, let me back up a step
here.
Treize Khushrenada is linked to the Barton family by either
marriage or love, at least - with Laia. He and Laia had a daughter, Mariemaia.
It is unknown whether he knows Mariemaia, but my guess is that he probably does,
but not like, personally. He got this Laia lady pregnant, she had the child and
he sent her money, to keep it quiet. After all, you never hear anything about
her or Mariemaia in the entire series. Laia dies after 2 years of putting up
with MM (Do you blame her?- J/k) and then Dekim takes over. Where was Treize in
all this? At war, fighting for peace... but no, wait, was he? Well, I don't know,
in my opinion, as he'd only be about uhm...20 ish? Then he may have been out
partying, doing the wining and dining of the ladies (or men..) So, I doubt he'd
want his daughter around...or maybe he didn't know it. After all, MM only had
the DNA tests later... at least after her information had been progressed onto
the computers- as it said "father - unconfirmed" or
something.
(Hm - a site I'm looking at here is telling me that
Laia was Treize's Nurse when he was injured( this is from the Manga Episode
Zero) .. a quickie with a nurse, eh?)
Dekim is MM's grandfather- Laia's father, I take it. After all, Trowa( the
original) told No-name (the Trowa as we know, the kid) that it was his sister
and her daughter in the photo - and he was the original Trowa Barton. So Dekim
Barton is his father, and Laia's father. Thus, in a way, Treize is related to
Dekim. However, lets go to the other end of the spectrum. In a book my friend
Liana has, it says Dorothy is Treize's niece. Maybe her father was his brother,
or her mother his sister, we don't know. That surely could mean that Dekim is
his father? Or maybe he's the step son of Dekim... oh it's confusing! It would
that mean that Dorothy and MM were cousins, and it gives her a good reason
to be upset over Treize's death.
The Peacecraft Family
The Peacecraft family is simple. Milliardo and Relena are the only surviving members after the horrible fire, and are brother and sister. Simple, ne? However, Relena was adopted, so she has a bit more of a family, her father being a very important man, Mr. Darlian was assassinated because of it, and as for her mother, well, you only see her a few times, then she seems to vanish. Pagan therefore joins the family, because he is like part of it- he has always been there.
Apparently, though I can't remember where I heard it, and can't be sure if I'm making it up or not, but Treize and Zechs supposedly knew each other when they were younger. I can't be sure of this, so don't quote me.
That's the 2 main Family relationships. Sure, there's the idea of Trowa and Catherine being brother and sister (which I think the manga Episode Zero claims as true, but I can't tell you I've not seen it) but I'm not going to go into detail.
