I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night
She didn't see me creep
Down the stairs to have a peek
She thought that I was tucked up in my bedroom
Fast asleep
Then I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy white
Oh what a laugh it would have been
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night...
Suddenly Joey was singing on her own. Pacey had walked away towards a young couple. "Damn you, Pacey!"
The woman turned around at the mention of his name. Pacey stopped dead in his tracks.
"Pacey?"
Pacey swallowed. "Andie." It was his ex-wife. What a wonderful coincidence. "How are ya?"
He glared at the man beside her. "Fine, fine. What about you? How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine. I'm great actually."
"Glad to hear it. I'll see you, Pacey." She took the man's arm and walked quickly away. Joey moved next to him and grabbed his hand.
"What a bitch. She didn't even introduce the wonderful bastard she was cheating on me with."

"I don't know why we're here," Pacey hissed as they waited for Jack to answer the door.
"Because we're adults and we can handle this."
"Did you even see how uncomfortable I was with Andie? It's going to be just as bad with Jack."
"Just shut up and smile, Pacey."
The door swung open. "Joey! Pacey! So glad you could make it," Jack greeted them.
"Ditto," Pacey mumbled. Joey elbowed him in the ribs. They walked in and got the "grand tour." Finally, they sat around a coffee table to have hors d'oeuvres.
"The place looks great," Joey commented. "I love the decoration."
"Oh, don't tell me. Tell Sally, my fiance." As if on cue, a gorgeous, fair-haired woman walked in with champagne flutes.
"Hi, I'm Sally. I've heard so much about you."
Pacey chuckled. "That's funny, 'cause we heard nothing about you." Jack glared at Pacey. "What'd I say?"

Later that night, Joey was sitting in bed, alone, crying. She sobbed into a tissue and stared miserably at the others that covered her comforter. Picking up the phone with a shaking hand, she dialed Pacey's number.
"Pacey? It's me. Can you come over? I don't want to be alone."
Within fifteen minutes, Pacey was by her side, holding her while she cried. "It's going to be okay," he murmured into her hair. "You're going to be just fine."
"No, I'm not! I thought I was over him, but I'm not."
After a lot of gentle coaxing, Pacey got her to lie down. "I'm going to make you some tea and then I'm going to leave."
"Don't leave. You can stay on the couch, just don't leave." Pacey sat back down on her bed.
"I have to get up in the morning, really early."
Joey sat up and put her arms around his neck. She pulled him close and they kissed. It was unlike any kiss either of them had ever experienced before. But would they survive the morning after?
