Pacey walked in the door to his apartment at six. The day had been a nightmare. He had to face Amanda and was expected to act like a mature adult. Which, when he thought about it, was physically impossible. His heart had just been broken and he was supposed to act like nothing was wrong.
All day he had wanted to hold Amanda and tell her he loved her. But that was impossible. He knew he would only get hurt even more when she rejected him. Joey would be at his apartment in two hours and he still had no idea what he was going to say.

*Maybe I should sleep for a little while and calm down?*

Pacey walked slowly over to the couch and lied down. He tried unsuccessfully to calm down, and began to cry instead. He cried until he fell asleep.

* * * * *
Pacey awoke to a loud knocking, almost banging, on his front door. He got up, rubbed his eyes. Looked in a mirror quickly. To his disappointment, his eyes were puffy and red, a dead giveaway that he had been crying.

"One second!"

He walked swiftly to the bathroom, washing his face with cool water. Then reaching into the cabinet in front of him, for eye drops. He looked down and saw his rumpled suit and decided to change quickly.

As he pulled up his sweat pants, he heard more loud banging. Pacey grabbed a shirt and practically ran to the door.

Joey stood before him. Her belly slightly round, looking as beautiful as the day he had left. Just the sight of her brought tears to his eyes.

He cleared his throat and motioned for her to come in.

"Hi, Joey," he whispered. She obviously didn't hear him. So he said it again, louder. "Hi, Joey."

She turned to face him. A small smile crept across her lips. "Hi, Pacey."

"Um, uh sit down, please." She sat down on the couch and he took a seat next to her.

"Pacey, I don't know where to start. I have so much to say to you, I just don't know how to say it."

Pacey tried to smile, but failed. He looked at the ground, trying not to cry. Joey gently put her hand on his back. She frowned when he seemed to tense up even more. She removed her hand and placed in her lap.

"I guess, first I should tell you again how sorry I am. I couldn't be more sorry. I know how badly I hurt you. God, I feel like Billy."

"Billy who?" Pacey said without looking up.

"You know. Billy, Jen Lindley's ex. The guy she fled the state from. I guess that makes you Jen." She laughed to herself and surprisingly heard Pacey laugh, too.

"I remember now. Except Jen didn't go quite as far as I did."

"No, she didn't. Pacey, do you still love me?"

He was surprised at her bluntness. She cut right to the chase. He remembered the conversation he and Amanda had the night before.

"Pacey do you still love her?"

Only he hadn't said a word. She knew immediately without an answer. With Joey, he would have to tell her.

"Yes, Joey. I'm sorry to say, I do."

Joey's heart leapt.

"Why, why are you sorry?"

"Because all the things you've done to me," he paused and she watched him wipe his eyes, "because all the things you've done to me have hurt me so badly and I'm not even man enough to... To..." He couldn't go on. He buried his face in his hands, but this time Joey made no attempt to comfort him.

She felt now, more guilty than she had ever felt before. She had ruined his life. Caused him to move across the country. Risk his job, to get away from her. When he had left, she hadn't the slightest idea of the affect it had on him. How hurt, how destroyed he was. She was surprised he hadn't made himself sick.

And here he was, before her, in so much pain, and she felt helpless. She could comfort him and maybe get forgiveness, or sit and let him hurt, and have him change his mind.

Joey wrapped her arms gently around him, pulling him as close to her as she could.

"Pacey, I'm so sorry. Please don't do this. I love you. Don't be so sad, please."

She felt childish saying those things to him. And selfish. Not wanting to feel uncomfortable when he obviously needed her. It was the she noticed that he hadn't removed her arms, and the girl she had met the day before wasn't there.

"Pacey? Where did that woman go?"

Pacey looked up at her sadly.

"She. She left me yesterday."

He looked like he would start to cry again, so Joey pulled him into a hug once more. He accepted it gratefully, and held her as tightly as he knew how.

"Does this mean you forgive me, Pacey? Does this mean you'll take me back?"

Pacey looked into her eyes. He bit his lip uncertainly.

"Yes. You're all I have left, Joey. My one and only."

Joey felt tears forming in her own eyes. She threw her arms around him and started to cry.

"Well, isn't this a Kodak moment. Both of us, together again. Crying our eyes out."

Joey laughed.

"Together again."
