"No. She doesn't want me back. She thinks I'm weak and if she convinces me its my baby, she'll have me back. But I'm not in love with her anymore, so I don't care."

"And?"

"And what?"

Amanda points to herself. Pacey laughs.

"And I have you now."

"Good boy."

He pulls her into a hug.

"Don't worry, babe. Some stupid, pregnant slut is not going to steal my man."

Pacey laughed. "You're evil."

"I know! Ha ha ha!"

New York

Joey looked at her plane ticket one more time. Erin and Gretchen were trying to make conversation, but Joey pretended not to hear them. Finally, she spoke.

"Well, I guess this is it."

Gretchen touched her arm.

"Joey, maybe you shouldn't do this. Hasn't he been through enough?"

Erin slapped her arm. Gretchen rubbed the spot and glared at Erin.

"Gretchen," she said, sounding irritated, "What about what she's been through? He just walks out after a stupid fight! One fight! Leaving her pregnant and..."

"And possibly with another guy's baby! And you know it wasn't just a stupid fight. She cheated on him! She slept with another guy and expected immediate forgiveness? I'm sorry, Joey. I don't know what planet you think you're living on. But here on earth, girls have one partner. Well, most girls. And if you want a different one, you break up with the original. That's how it works. That's how it always worked. And if you don't play by the rules, you lose. And it's all your fault."

Joey knew she was right. She hung her head and nodded. Erin gave her a hug.

"Joey, your plane is boarding."

Los Angeles

"Pacey, dear!"

Amanda could hear Pacey's deep laugh from the other room.

"Yes, my darling Amanda?"

"Dinner is ser-eved!"

"Coming!"

Pacey walked out into the tiny kitchen.

"Pacey?"

"That's me."

"I think we need a bigger apartment."

"You think, or you want?"

"I want."

"We'll see. Maybe if you're a good girl."

Amanda made a face and put their plates on the table.

"We're making enough money. And now that Joey girl has our phone number, she might start calling here all the time."

"Fine. We'll move."

Pacey frowned.

"Do you think she hates me or something? She keeps trying to make my life harder and harder."

"Don't worry, baby. As long as she doesn't know where we live, you're safe."

"But she has our phone number!"

"Geez. Don't whine, Pacey. I'm aware that she has our phone number, but information doesn't give out addresses."

"Then how did she get our number?"

"I don't know! And she doesn't sound too smart to me, so she probably wouldn't think of ... damn. She either got hold of an LA phone book or. Or. Did you inform the Nolfo's of your 'situation?' "

Pacey hung his head.

"I forgot."

"Well, there you go."

Joey ran her finger through the phone book.

"Personnel Express, Personnel Express. Ha! Got it!"

"I'm sorry, miss. I can't give out any of Mr. Witter's personal information. Now, I'm going to have to ask you again to leave."

"No! You listen to me! This," she points to her stomach, "is his child. Now either you tell me where he lives or you will have one pissed off, pregnant woman in your face!"

"You're not going to harm him?"

"No!"

"And if I give it to you, you'll leave?"

"Yes!"

"And he won't know it was me?"

"I promise, I won't say a word!"

The secretary sighed and wrote Pacey's address on a small slip of paper. She handed it to Joey.

"Thank you so much!"

"Hey, hey Paula! I wanna marry you. Hey, hey Paula! Nobody else but you! I've waited so long for school to...."

"Amanda will you shut up! Some people have work to do!"

"That's why we have a 'place of employment.' We do work there not at home."

"Well, I like to get things done. That way I can finish my work without any pressure at my, quote on quote, place of employment."

Amanda giggled and put her finger to her lips.

"Sshh!!! Some people have work to do!"

Pacey laughed as she shook her head in mock disbelief. She started towards their bedroom.

"I'm taking a nap. I hope that doesn't interfere with your 'working' schedule!"

Then the doorbell rang and Amanda turned on her heels and squealed with delight.

"I'LL GET IT!!!!!"

She came running back into the room, acting like it was the Olympics, jumping over invisible hurtles.

"You are so weird."

"Thank you!"

Amanda pulled open the door.

"Helloooooo!!!!!!"

Pacey couldn't see who was at the door.

"Hi," came the quiet voice Pacey would have recognized anywhere.
