The Capeside Sagas : Part 1

Author: Kat
Rating : Aww, read it already...
Summary: Dawson, Joey, Jen, Pacey, Andie, Jack, Eve and Chris have all been chosen to be part of a new program. The Capeside Bunch transfers to a little town called Shadyside for one semester. They move to a cozy house in a lovely neighborhood known as Fear Street.
Classification: Crossover/Parody, no real romantic stuff .
Distribution: Anywhere, just let me know.
Author's Note: I'm making Eve a lot like Abby. I had to take a break from all the serious stuff, aka The Leading Man's Legacy. Hope you like my stab at the more comical side of the creek.
Disclaimer: Don't own Dawson's Creek or the great series by R.L. Stine, Fear Street.

"You have been chosen to take part in the Capeside/Shadyside Student Exchange Program. Please keep in mind that you will not only be representing your school, but also your town and your parents. Be on your absolute best behavior or it will get back to me," Principal Markham said in a stern yet cheerful voice.

Pacey Witter stared at her in disbelief. Groaning inwardly, he raised his hand and waited patiently to be called on.

"Yes, Mr. Witter, you have a question?"

"Uh-huh. How did you decide who was going on this little field trip?" He surveyed the room, taking in his fellow classmates who had been selected. Eve Stone, Dawson Leery, Joey Potter, Chris Wolfe, Andie McPhee, Jack McPhee, and Jen Lindley had the same deer in headlights expression he had at the moment. It was painfully obvious nobody wanted to go.

"Yes, I would like to lodge a formal complaint," Eve said in an obnoxious voice. "We don't even know these people! What if they're losers?" Chris nodded in agreement and decided to put in his two cents.

"What if they're aren't any hot girls?"

Jen snorted. "You are such a pig. Maybe the girls in this town would rather not be corrupted," she said snidely.

He sneered at her suggestively. "You didn't seem to mind."

Eve rolled her eyes. "She was already corrupted to begin with." She and Chris laughed. Jen appeared unaffected, but Pacey could tell that one had stung.

"That's enough!" Principal Markham cried. "I just hope you don't act this way while you're in Shadyside." She gave them all a look of disapproval. "And if you must know, Mr. Witter, I chose each of you."

They all stared at her in disbelief. Why them? It was as if she could read their minds. "Because I believe you are all special in your own way. Eve, you're the social one."

"Big mouth," Pacey cracked in a low voice.

"Chris, you're friendly and outgoing."

"Male slut."

"Josephine, you're intelligent and articulate."

"Sarcastic and rude."

"Dawson, you're creative and courteous."

"Suck-up."

"Jennifer, you're mature and independent."

"Rebel."

"Andie, you're conscientious and hardworking."

"Another suck-up."

"Jack, you're respectful of authority."

"Coward," Eve remarked.

"And Pacey, you're...you're..."

"Your Dad made her!" Principal Markham gave her a look that could kill. Eve raised her hands and smiled sweetly. "Just kidding."

"Pacey, you've made quite an improvement over the last year and have showed me what a remarkable young man you are. I think you deserve this opportunity most of all."

Pacey beamed. He'd never received such a compliment from a teacher before. Well, not counting all the praise he'd gotten from Tamara, but that was different.

Eve shook her head. "Whatever, so do we have to go?"

"Yes, Eve, you do."

"But I don't want to!"

"Such a whiner," Pacey said in disgust. The rest of the group nodded in agreement. Nobody really seemed to be protesting after receiving their compliments. Maybe this would be fun after all.

"You leave on Monday. Be ready to leave bright and early and bring a sufficient amount of clothing. Have a nice weekend."

The eight teens poured out of the classroom as quickly as they could. Pacey tapped his ex on the shoulder. "Excited?" he asked happily.

Andie made a face. Excited was definitely not the word. Why had Principal Markham decided to punish her so cruelly. With her luck she'd end up having to spend time with Pacey the whole semester.

"Guess not," he concluded as she walked away without giving him an answer.

Dawson watched the scene unfold and approached Pacey. "Still ignoring you?"

"What made you think that? Didn't you see us making love on the floor?" Pacey smirked and Dawson smiled apologetically.

"Sorry, stupid question."

"You're telling me. But I'm not going to let her ruin my fun. I'm psyched to be going on this trip!"

"Only because of the bicycle pump Principal Markham used to inflate your ego," he remarked.

"True, true. You have to admit, though, it does sound pretty cool."

"I'll believe it when I see it."

Joey checked herself in the mirror one last time before rushing out the front door with barely a good-bye. If she stopped to hug Bessie and Alex she'd never make it to school on time.

Pacey pushed open the door for Joey, the handle only worked on the inside. "Morning, Ms. Potter." Joey smiled quickly and threw her bag into the back-seat.

"Ditto," she replied. Pacey laughed good-naturedly and waved to Bessie and Alex who were standing at the front door. Joey blew a kiss to her nephew as Pacey sped off. "I am so nervous, Pacey. Are you?"

Waving a hand at her he snorted. "Me? Nervous? I don't think so." Joey gave him the "yeah right" look. "Okay, I'm a little nervous. But more because of Andie then spending a semester in a strange town."

"She's still being a bitch, huh?"

"Yeah, you could say that."

"Sorry, but on her behalf, as you know I've been "the bitch" myself, she must have her reasons. Nobody could resist the ol' Witter charm unless they really hated you," she said slyly. He laughed.

"Thanks, bitch."

Andie watched in agony as Pacey and Joey pulled up in the Witter truck, Pretty Fly For A White Guy blasting out of the open windows. Jealousy ran through her as she saw Joey and Pacey laughing it up and singing along. That should be me, she thought bitterly.

"You dumped him, Andie," her brother, Jack reminded her.

"I am aware of that."

"Just making sure."

"My God, you girls brought enough for a family of five. Each," Pacey said in sheer awe.

Andie had four trunks, each weighing an estimated five tons. Jen had three, lighter than Andie's. Most of her hair stuff was no longer necessary since her haircut she had explained. Eve had three, too. Thankfully, Joey had only brought one suitcase and her backpack, bursting at the seams.

The guys' load was considerably smaller. Chris had the most with three duffel bags. Dawson and Jack each had two suitcases. Pacey only had one.

The bus driver threw their bags carelessly into the special education bus. Andie, Eve and, Jen cried out one after another as their bags landed with a loud thump. Pacey laughed and climbed onto the bus.

Everybody followed and took seats far from each other.

"This is going to be a long ride."

"All right, everybody out." The doors swung open and everyone shuffled out, muttering curses and complaining. Obviously the six hour drive had been too much for them to handle.

"Thank God," Joey said once they had gotten their bags and adjusted to land again. Pacey stood next to her, half asleep.

"You are so lucky, Pace. I just can't sleep on a moving vehicle."

"I can sleep anywhere, anytime." She slapped him playfully. "Hey, no violence, I'm too tired to fight back." With a scowl she relented and they made their way towards the mammoth house before them.

Dawson was already staring, mouth open at the colossal sight. Pacey took notice to the street sign first. "Fear Street? Nice name. Sounds very homey."

Jen looked when she heard him say the name. "Are you serious? Fear Street?" He nodded.

"They just rebuilt this house, too," Dawson said. "Fear Mansion. The place burned down about a hundred years ago."

"So they turn it into a hotel?" Pacey asked sounding skeptical. "I have a bad feeling about this town, guys."
