Michael then receives the order of Saint Sebastian, a very high catholic church honor. Michael sees Kay and his children there.
Mary begins to talk to Vincent, her cousin. She then gives $100 million on behalf of the Corleone Foundation to the poor people of Sicily in the name of Vito Corleone.
Johnny Fontane shows up and sings. Michael talks to Kay for the first time in several years. Michael then talks to his son Anthony, and encourages him to get a law degree instead of becoming a singer.
Joey Zasa and Vincent explain their problems with each other to Michael. Vincent bites off part of Joey's ear. Michael then asks Vincent to join in the family picture.
Two men break into Vincent's place. They were sent by Joey Zasa. Vincent brutally murders both of them.
Michael agrees to take care of a real estate company-Immobiliare.
A meeting is called for all shareholders in Michael Corleone in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Joey says that Michael is his enemy and tells everyone to decide between him and Michael. Joey Zasa leaves. Shortly after his departure, the table begins to shake. A helicopter outside the building shoots almost all the members in the room. Twenty people are killed. The remaining members make deals with Joey Zasa, out of fear.
Michael talks about being back pulled into the mob world again and has a diabetic stroke. He is rushed to the hospital, in a coma. Kay comes to the hospital, and so does Mary and Anthony.
Vincent dresses up as a cop and attends the street fair. He kills Joey Zasa and his bodyguards.
Michael goes to Sicily. He walks with his two kids and talks, tells Mary not to see Vincent. Kay comes to Sicily. Michael shows her a true tour of his father's birthplace.
Michael hands the family name and business over to Vincent. He tells Vincent though that he may not see Mary ever again.
The family attends the opera show, with Anthony as the star. Vincent tells Mary that their relationship is over. There is an assasin at this performance attempting to kill Michael. He kills three of Vincent's bodyguards. Several more planned murders, ordered by Vincent and Michal take place during the opera performance. The scene is a parallel of Baptism and Murder from the first movie.
Mary is shot on the steps as the family leaves. For the first time, viewers see Michael's ture feelings, as he cries and yells out as he watches his daughter die.
The movie ends with Michael sitting alone in a chair, aged and looking at his ends. He falls out of the chair and dies. This ends the Godfather Trilogy.
