Ground Rules
Ø
BY DEFAULT, everything you say is your personal opinion. Speak for
yourself.
IF chartered by your Company or Institution to give an official
statement, indicate that it is an official statement.
The Forum believes that a candid discussion of issues is the only
way we can move forward.
Ø
This is an open forum, and we want people to speak frankly.
However, you may wish to :
o
Keep confidential matters out of this Forum.
o
Discourage people from making this a sales venue.
o
Avoid topics that are not related to the aims and
objectives of this Forum.
Ø Everytime
we open the papers, we read about something discouraging about the Philippines.
Power problems ?
We already know about it. Peace and order
? Old news. For a change, let us make this
a venue for strengthening
hope in this country
instead of rehashing what we already know.
Ø The
word “Katipunan” connotes a revolution, a big change. Bring out your
revolutionary, out of the box ideas.
If people tell you there is no
market in the Philippines, tell them that Singapore has no local market. If
people say we
have to fix our peace and order problems first, tell
them that the Israelis are able to innovate even when bullets are
flying around. Excuses ? Everyone has one.
We don’t want to hear why it can’t be done. Tell
us HOW it can be done.
Ø
Just as in life, there are no guarantees here.
We want to encourage more technology SME’s in this country, but
we cannot guarantee that they will succeed. The
only thing we can offer is support – in terms of training, market
assessment, etc.
Ø We
already have 7,107 islands. Do not build more islands – instead build
bridges.
