Yes, an update, finally! Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of skating news to write about, but a nice reader took the time to email be about the site (thanks, reader!) so I figured I had better update it. It's good to know somebody bothers to read it! Anyhow, it's been over a month and a half since I've skated. Partly because I took on a huge project at work and have been putting in OT like crazy, but mostly because there hasn't been any open skate since mid June. At least not any during my lunch hour. I was told this is because of a hockey camp type thing, which happens ever summer. Anyhow, my craziness at work concludes mid August following a business trip to California, and hopefully open skate will find it's way back on the schedule. I'm dying to get on the ice again.
So you might recall me saying that I had every intention of competing at my rinks basic skills competition this year. Well, the competition is on Saturday, and due to the lack of ice time, I was not able to get a program together in time. I will be helping out at the competition though, and I'm sure it will motivate me even more to get back on the ice. Every year it does!
Well, the one bit of skating news I do have is that I FINALLY have my music cut!! Its awesome, I can't stop listening to it, and I sure can't wait to have my coach put the program together! I will, for sure, have a program for Badger State Games this year. That I am sure of! Also, I did finally start taking lessons again. I started mid May I believe, and did a lesson every other week with a new coach. She teaches the higher level freestyle kids, but also teaches a few adults like me who come on their lunch hour. I really enjoy her teaching style and look forward to working with her more! She's already fixed problems with my toe loop and camel spin.
Hopefully I will have more skating updates in the near future...in the meantime, I have started jogging to get this lazy body back in shape. ;)
