Notes for teachers:
- This activity is designed for middle
school students - specifically sixth-graders.
- These rubrics are very detailed; I have
found that the more precise and
complete the teacher is in setting
expectations, the better the learning experience for the students.
I did them this way to prevent any bias in my evaluation. I have
found that to be very valuable to me and to each student. However
--
- No teacher can use such detailed
rubrics ALL the time. It would take
entirely too much time. Pick and
choose the assignments/rubrics you
will use. Don't drive yourself crazy!!
- Rubrics are not only an evaluation tool
for the teacher. They are "learning
tools" for the students, also. The
students must see the rubrics before the assignment if they are
going to be held accountable for them (in a perfect
world!).
- These charts are not written in "table"
form. Each set of rubrics is in
"gif" form. You should be able to
download the page so it looks exactly the way it does here or pick
and choose the ones you want to use.
