Young People's Bible Study
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave
his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Meaning And Application
The entire gospel comes to a focus in this
verse. God's love is not static or self-centered; it
reaches out and draws others in.
Here God sets
the pattern of true love. It is the basis
for all love relationships. When you love someone dearly,
you are willing to
give freely to the point of
self-sacrifice. God paid dearly with the life of
his Son, the higest price he could pay. Jesus
accepted
our punishment, paid the price for our sins,
and then offered us the new life that he
had bought for us. When we share the gospel
with others, our love must be like Jesus'-willingly
giving up our comfort and security so that others
might join us in receiving
God's love.
TO Believe
To "believe" is more than an intellectual agreement
that Jesus is God. It means to put our trust
and confidence in him that he
alone can save us.
It is to put Christ in charge of our present
plans and enternal destiny. Believing is both
trusting his words as
reliable, and relying on him for the
power to change. If you have never trusted Christ, let
this promise of everlasting life be yours.
Believe in Christ and
do as the Bible tells you to do. This is the way he
speaks to you. Read the Bible every day. Start the
day
with a prayer that Christ Jesus will help you
to do what he wants you to do.
STAND FOR CHRIST
Many people don't want to change the way they live.
Don't be surprised when these same people are theatened
by your desire
to obey God and do what is right.
But don't be discouraged, keep praying that they will
come to see how much better it is to live
for Christ and do the right thing. Pray that they
will come to know the Lord as you do.
God does answer prayers.
PRAYER
When we are a christian we have a wonderful gift
from God. The God given right to Pray!!
I think of all the things
I love most to do,
and that is to go into a Room alone and
be with Our Lord. I love to be able to set
and talk to
him.
If we are Christians we can know that God will hear
because as he says it in the Bible.
Matthew 21:22"
If
you believe, you will receive
whatever you ask for in prayer."
MEANING OF THE VERSE
This verse does not mean that we get ANYTHING
we want simply by asking Jesus and believing.
God does not
grant requests that would hurt us or others
or that would violate his own nature or will.
Jesus' statement is not a
blank check. To be fulfilled,
our request must be in harmony with the principles of God's Kingdom.
The stronger
our belief, the more likely our prayers
will be in line with God's will,
and then God will be happy to grant them.
But we must have faith that he will answer our prayers.
Sometimes God has to say "no" because he knows it is
not for the best. Do remember God does answer our prayers.
It may not be the way we want it to be,
or as fast
as we want it to be, but he does answer.
He answers it in the way that it is best for us.
Only God can see the
whole picture of our life
and only he knows what is the right thing for us.
We must trust him in all things.
Talk to
him often, and yes, even reason with him.
Then if he does not grant what you ask for,
then you know it was for
the best.
He has the whole picture of our life he is looking at.
Trust him. Remember prayer is a great tool.
Use it
with care, but use it often.
Use it when something is not right with you at school or at home,
or maybe your Best
friend and you are not speaking.
Talk it over with the Lord. He will listen.
He will help you. He will show you the
right way
and then you must follow. The best way to know what
he wants is to go to the Bible. Here he talks to
you. That is why it was written.
The Bible is His Word. Read it. Pray to him.
Ask for his well to be done. But
you must remember
that in order for God to forgive us of our sins,
we must forgive others that have did us wrong.
Even if they don't ask , we must forgive them.
Have a forgiving heart.
LET OTHERS SEE CHRIST IN YOU.
JESUS PRAYED
Jesus prayed and he left us with this prayer.
It is called The Lord's Prayer.
Think about the words as you pray
them. Mean it.
This is a powerful Prayer. I say it many times a day.
It is good to say in the morning, when you get
up.
Say this prayer and then go to the other request
you have for the Lord. Above all remember
to count your
blessing and to thank him for them.
We can not be selfcentered.
Don't you think that Our Lord wants to hear
"Thank You Lord"
for all he has did for us?
Then pour your heart out to him.
The Lord's Prayer is found in Luck
11.
I would like you to read Luck 11:1-7 to get
