My name is Katie McClure, and I have recently been given the distinction of
representing Georgina in the Miss Canada International pageant being held in
Toronto in August. I will be the first ever Miss Georgina to be a Miss
Canada delegate, and as such I believe that this title represents the
growing nature of Georgina. It also reflects the new face of our town, as
our citizens are being recognized for our positive achievements. I believe
that this is a wonderful opportunity for both Georgina and accordingly local
businesses.
My participation in the Miss Canada pageant is contingent upon the
submission of a registration fee of $3,224.00. I am required to obtain two
major sponsors both of which will be promoted under my photograph in the
program, on billboards at the entrance of the theatre and the Novatel Hotel,
as well as verbally during the event while I am on stage. I am also
permitted up to 10 minor sponsors, which will be given credit in the program
under my title.
It is my belief that this national venue presents a remarkable promotional
opportunity for local businesses. As a major sponsor you would be promoted
across Canada. Local promotions involving Miss Georgina would also
acknowledge the support of your business. As a local entity this venue
would associate you nationally with the community of Georgina, while also
enticing tourists to visit our area. In appreciation for your contribution,
I would also be available to you for any private promotional events.
My reign as Miss Georgina has already begun with a number of spots in local
media. As such there is a great deal of urgency with regards to the
aforementioned support. I have attached a letter from Sylvia Stark, the
president of the Miss Canada pageant, detailing the particulars regarding
the advantages and requirements of corporate sponsors. I urge you to take
this into consideration not only for my benefit, but also in support of the
Town of Georgina, and for your own profit.
