Hide and Seek

It's easy to hide away from the world.
I turn off all of the lights,
Finds a corner that doesn't seem so
threatened
upset
angry.
And I sit there
In a ball
In a shell.
They can't get to me now, no one can.
They can come in if they want,
Plead and beg
Scream
Shout so loud I wish my ears would
bleed so I wouldn't have to hear it
anymore, ever again
But I won't look up
I won't talk
I won't be weak.
They can jab that knife through all
the right places of my subconcious
They can throw my priceless posessions
against the wall, above my head,
toward my head
until my hair is splattered with shards
of broken glass.
I won't move.
Eventually they will leave
And I'm only left with the pain
I can't seem to hide from.
