I. Introduction to

B. Purpose: To review previous lesson and recall specific details of previous
chapters.
II. Objectives: Students will present completed essays, demonstrate recollection skills,
review
happenings of chapter three, and complete activity three.
III. Procedures
A. Materials Needed: copy of the book The Outsiders, handout containing activities three and four, reading guide, overhead projector, overhead markers.
B. Anticipatory Set: Teacher will begin class by discussing essays from activity two; addressing any questions or problems anyone had.
C. Lesson Activities: To the class, students will present completed essays from activity two. Each student will hand in activity two with completed essay after presenting. After all presentations are done teacher will read aloud, as students follow along in their books, chapter four stopping for any questions or to explain any unfamiliar words. After chapter four has been completed the reading guide questions for that chapter will be discussed as a class. After the reading guide questions have been discussed students will be given activity three and given 10-15 minutes (20 minutes at most as they may have to look in book for answers) to complete it individually. After all students have completed activity it will be handed in. After it has been handed teacher will go over questions with class.
D. Culminating Activity: Students will be assigned to read chapter five and complete activity four for homework.
IV. Closure: Complete plot log (see lesson 1) containing events of chapter four. At this
time students may
ask any questions about activities done in class, the novel, or the homework
assignment.
