C. Lesson Activities: After discussion students will provide teacher with information to complete plot log for chapter two (see lesson 1 for explanation of plot log). When reading guide questions are finished being discussed students will get into pairs (only more than two students per group if there are an odd number of students) and complete first part of handout containing activity two. After the presentations have been completed, the teacher will read aloud, as students follow along in their books, chapter three, stopping for any questions or to explain any unfamiliar words. After chapter three has been completed the reading guide questions for that chapter will be discussed as a class.
D. Culminating Activity: Students will finish activity two for homework and have essays ready to present to class and hand in at start of next class period.
IV. Closure: Complete
plot log (see lesson 1) containing events of chapter three. At this time
students may ask any questions about activities done in class, the novel, or
the homework assignment.
