Dynamic Characters
A
character that undergoes some important change in a story is called a dynamic
character. In chapters seven and eight, Ponyboy shows that he is a dynamic
character. His attitudes toward Darry, the Socs, Johnny, and even Dally begin
to change. Understanding the causes and nature of those changes will help a
reader understand Pony’s character.
