The world is mainly run by Shinra Inc. The company extracts mako energy from the planet which they then use as an energy source. This mako energy however is also the life force of the planet and through thier extraction of the mako energy Shinra is destroying the planet. The only people Standing up to Shinra in protection of the planet is a small rebel group called Avalanche. Avalanche was formed by Barret Wallace and is based in the midgar slums, the area suffering most due to shinra's extraction of mako energy. Barret, Cloud Strife (an ex member of SOLDIER), Tifa and a number of others that make up Avalanche lead an attack on one of shinras reactors which they use to extract the mako energy. But the simple terrorist attact soon turns into an even more urgent fight against an even bigger danger that threatens the life of the planet. |
