| It was by the side of her Sergei that Katia skated into our hearts- and Sergei into hers. The pair that was so perfectly matched on the ice as children would be perfectly matched in love as adults. Together, the two created magic on the ice that has never once been recreated. They captured 4 World Titles and 2 Gold Medals at the '88 and '94 Olympic games. But their most precious colaboration would debut in 1992 with the birth of their daughter, Daria. Sadly, Sergei passed away in November of 1995, but the impression he left on all who knew him and all who admired him is still deep and lasting. |
