In terms of management, I suppose I am more on the strict side of rules and consequences. All the students will know the rules and consequences and students will make the choice whether to respect the limits or not. Respect is a big aspect of discipline in my teaching. I think students should realize that in  upper elementary school this knowledge is expected of them. Their actions speak louder than words and are a true reflection of themselves.

By developing a class constitution, I believe the class can cover all the rules for behavior in a positive way. Having the students sign the constitution and then hanging it up in a prominent place in the classroom will help the students take ownership of it.

This is a copy of the Constitution that is given to each student and parent.

This is the back of the Constitution.
