Community Homework

In Social Studies we have been learning how important being a part of a community is. We have learned many of the different characteristics of a community and where the community we live in is located at. We compared our communities to Roxaboxen and other areas around us. We talked to parents or other adult about what they felt was important in the community. Now it’s your turn.

Assignment: Each student will create a poster (on large construction paper provided-not poster board) describing what the characteristics of their community are.

·       You can use pictures from a camera, Internet, magazine or self-drawn. You can write about it. You can type it out. You can basically create the poster in anyway you want.

·       Your parents may help you some, but this is mainly to be done by yourself.

·       You can use your yellow web we created describing the location of your community.

·       You should include at least 7 characteristics or pictures
