My
car was getting kinda old
So
I thought that I should see
About
trading her in on
A
new set of wheels for me

I
went down to the Chevy man
And
this red car caught my eye
I
told the salesman that
This
is the car I want to buy

I
signed the many papers
To
own that car, so neat
But
when I got inside it
The
petals I could not reach

I
searched for the power button
To
further up the seat
But
all I found to move it
Was
a lever underneath

It
was kinda warm inside the car
I
went to roll the window down
But
when I looked things over
A
crank was all I found

It
was kinda late....sunset near
I
was wondering what was wrong
It
was getting dark
outside....but..
The
headlights hadnt come on

I
looked the key chain over
Wondering
where the button be
It
was then I knew the trunk lid
Had
to be opened with a key

No
light upon the dash to tell me
That
my right door was ajar
No
mileage counter on the front
To
count my miles thus far

No
memory on the drivers side
To
re-adjust my seat
No
power locks to push
When
the doors I could not reach

No
tape deck in the console
So
I could sing along
Or
listen to Conway Twitty
And
play my favorite songs

No
mirror on the sun visor
So
I could freshen up my face
No
compartments here and there
Just
a bunch of wasted space

No
little light to tell me
It
was time for an oil change
No
way to get the antenna down
Now
I really found that strange

Now
I think I know the difference
Between
"basic" and
"luxury"
And
I'll have to tell the salesman
This
car just ain't for me

Back
to the dealer I did go
When
he saw, I think he knew
That
I would not be leaving
Without
my old Park Avenue!
