As I take a sentimental journey

Back in time so long ago

Remembering your sweet kisses

I never wanted you to go

When you took me in your arms

Then brushed a tear away

As you told me of another love

How you’d planned your wedding day

My mind went numb, my heart stood still

As I tried to comprehend

Thoughts running through my mind

Of how your other love begin

The necklace you put 'round my neck

I treasured through the years

To reach up there and touch it

Would always bring more tears

Some tell me that I’m  fortunate

For your heart would ne’er be true

But  all my days are filled with

The pain of losing you
