33 Months--
      Almost 3 years post-op
My life has started to change in dramatic ways.  Now that I have my house repainted and redecorated, I have turned my focus to one of promoting awareness of the plight of the young-onset community, promoting the DBS itself, and advocacy for PD patients rights.

Medtronic has invited me to be an Activa Ambassador, and as such, I have availed myself to work with neurosurgeons and Medtronic reps to do public speaking engagements.  My most current one, and by far the largest audience thus far was at my last check-up with my movement disorder specialist.

It was an audience of about 85 people, and I viewed it to be rather successful.  There were two other DBS patients there as well speaking to the audience.  It amazes me how each of us responds differently to the Activa Therapy.  Just as with any therapy, we all have different stories to tell.

With April being Parkinson's Awareness month, I have submitted weekly articles to our local newspaper.  I attended the Parkinson's Unity Walk in New York City with a friend--we had a delightful time.
It was great to meet up with old friends, and finally meet new on-line friends!  Despite the rain, it was a very memorable experience.
