Unctuous:       Having an oily or soapy feel; excessively smooth, suave, or smug;

                        insincerely earnest

 

Ineffable:        Unable to be expressed or described

 

Mellifluous:    Pleasing to the ear, flowing with sweetness

 

Timorous:       Unconfident, fearful; showing lack of confidence or displaying fearfulness

 

Ephemeral:     Short-lived, lasting but for a brief time

 

Adamant:        Impervious to pleas or reason; stubbornly unyielding

 

Apathetic:       Lacking any concern, care, or excitement about anything

 

Redundant:     Characterized by unnecessary repetition; no longer useful

 

Ameliorate:    To make or become better; improve

 

Indignant:       Filled with anger about  something unjust, mean, or unworthy

 

Gauche:          Unsophisticated, so much so as to make social situations uncomfortable

 

Incredulous:   Skeptical; unwilling or unable to believe something is true

 

Cacophony:    Harsh-sounding, composed of a disagreeable sound or sounds

 

Fastidious:      Characterized by a heightened attention to detail; hard to please

 

Insidious:        Stealthily harmful

 

Anachronism: Something or someone in the wrong time period; the act of attributing something or someone to such an erroneous time period.
