I wrote this story for the Poor Tom Challenge that Beth and I started on the CPSG. It was inspired by the ‘Things you Learn from Slash' list by Josephine Darcy at http://www.members.tripod.com/~JosephineDarcy/fiction1.html

I chose to do number 70....

....Despite the fact that all Starfleet ships are equipped with Sonic Showers, Tom Paris takes real ones... but that's okay, since he never takes one alone.

Disclaimers: I don't own them. Wish I did. No one ever said life was fair.

The Shower Stall
by Kathy P.

Tom luxuriated in the feel of the hot water caressing his body. ‘Ah, this is the life', Tom thought as he rubbed some shampoo into his blonde hair.

He jumped as the cold air hit him when the door to his shower opened. "Damn it, close the door!" he yelled as he moved fully under the stream of hot water washing the suds from his hair.

"Sorry," Harry Kim said as he quickly closed the shower door.

"Geez, Harry. Are you trying to freeze me out?"

"Has anyone ever told you that you're a horrible morning person? Pass me the shampoo will ya?"

"No, Harry. I've never heard that before," Tom replied, sarcasm dripping from his voice as he handed his friend the bottle of shampoo.

Harry snickered as he quickly shampooed his hair. Grabbing the bar of soap from Tom's hand, earning him a glare, he quickly washed himself clean. "Thanks for the shower, Tom," Harry said, grinning as he stepped out of the shower, causing another blast of cold air and another glare.

"No problem, Harry. Anything for a friend," came the frosty reply.

Grabbing the soap from where Harry had left it, he started to lather the bar up when another blast of cold air caused him to wince.

"Jesus!" he complained as he turned to look at who had entered the cubicle.

A dry chuckle greeted him, "I may be godlike, Paris, but you can call me by my given name."

"Har, har," Tom sniffed as he made room in the shower. "You a barrel of laughs, Chakotay."

"Thank you," Chakotay replied, a smirk on his face. "Pass me the shampoo."

Tom handed the bottle over to the bigger man, his eye's flickering over the beautiful, bronze muscles. ‘My, my, my,' he thought to himself.

Returning to his attempt at washing himself, Tom continued to visually caress the other man with his eyes as Chakotay showered.

Tossing the bottle back at the startled blond, Chakotay laughed as he grabbed the bar of soap away from Tom. "You have to start keeping more than one bar of soap in here. It's hard to share with just one."

Tom had to stop himself from leering at the older man. ‘I'll give you something to share,' he thought to himself.

With a sigh, he accepted that bar of soap back. "I'll keep that in mind," he said as he braced himself for the slap of cold air as Chakotay slipped out of the shower.

Turning to face the hot water again, Tom slowly started to soap himself up. ‘What I wouldn't give to have that man in my bed,' he thought dreamily.

Lost in thought, he yelped as yet another wave of cold air stuck him. Looking over his shoulder he looked at the shower's new occupant.

"Hi, Captain," he said as he passed over the shampoo bottle. "Here you go."

"Thank you, Tom," Kathryn Janeway said as she manoeuvred herself under the spray of hot water, taking Tom's place.

‘Hmm. Now I know why she's captain,' Tom thought as he found himself moved out from under the water. ‘She can out-manoeuvre anyone!'

Janeway grinned ferally as Tom silently handed her the soap. ‘What a great idea, Kathryn' she thought as she scoped out Tom's body. Giving Tom the only quarters with running water on the ship. It certainly made for interesting mornings.

"I'll see you on the bridge, Mr. Paris," Janeway said as she stepped out of the shower, leaving the bar of soap in Tom's hand.

"Aye, Captain."

Finally, Tom managed to finish soaping himself down when the door slid up again. Yellow polka dots filled his vision.

"My, this is good for ship's morale," Neelix burbled happily as he stepped into the shower.
