My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that teaching is more than an eight to four job where you recite dates and facts and assign homework.  Teaching is about mentoring all of your students and encouraging them to succeed and achieve all of their goals.  Students spend a majority of their time in school with their teacher, and I believe that a teacher is a person who can connect with children and help them through their troubles and recognize their potiential for success.  I have had several teachers in my past who have made such an important impact on my life.  They guided me through trying times and helped me persevere, leading me to achieve my goals.  I want to give that gift to other children.  I believe that the most important thing a child needs is someone who believes in them and motivates them to achieve all of their goals.

Teaching middle school students can offer more challenges when you are encouraging them to succeed academically.  Middle school students are going through so many changes, both physically and mentally.  As a future teacher, I believe that all learners are different.  I know that in order for all of my students to succeed I will use a variety of strategies and activities to get every learner in my classroom to achieve a level of mastery of the subject material they can be proud of.  In my classroom I will also use strategies that will be sensitive to all of their changing needs.  Teaching can be a challenging profession, however, I believe that being a caring mentor with a passion to see student success combined with using different stratgies to reach all learner can make learning an enjoyable experience for all students.
