"Expecting all children the same age to learn from the same materials is like expecting all children the same age to wear the same size clothing". Madeline Hunter
This quote defines my teaching philosophy. I believe that teaching needs to be based on each learners unique learning style. Academic choice allows students to take responsibility for their own learning because they have input into the way they learn. I want to adjust my teaching style to fit their needs. We all have the same goal, success.
I have high expectations of my students. I want my students to gain mastery of the subject areas I teach, develop the ability to think critically and learn to work cooperatively with fellow classmates.
I want my students actively engaged in the learning process through demonstrations, hands on activities and working with others.
I will encourage students to come to conclusions on their own through thought evoking questions.
I will keep my students excited about learning and motivated to succeed.
All students will have an equal opportunity to participate and feel welcome in my classroom.
I believe that parents are a integral part in a childs education. It takes a team of teachers, parents and administrators to support a student.
