Public Relations
There are really no defined standards for entry into a public relations career, though a college education combined with public relations experience, usually gained through an internship, is considered excellent preparation for public relations work.  It is essential that you can write and speak well.  While PR firms can look for any number of different people, some seek college graduates who have worked in electronic or print journalism.  If you have had experience with technical writing, you should be well prepared for entry into this field.  Here are some things you might do as a PR specialist:

* Prepare speeches for company officials
* Represent employers at community projects
* Make film, slide, or other visual presentations at meetings and       school assemblies
* Plan conventions
* Prepare annual reports and writing proposals for various projects
* Do research and prepare materials for an organization

The following schools offer graduate programs in PR:
Ball State University
Boston University
Florida International University
Michigan State University
Ohio State University
Rowan University
Syracuse University
Murray State
Marquette University
