CHRISTMAS POEMS
JOE'S CHRISTMAS WISH

Outside the snow lies cold and deep
But the house is warm and bright
As we gather round the tall pine tree
To celebrate this Christmas night

So many gifts to be thankful for
But one above all others
That they're here tonight, safe and well
My father and my brothers

This past year we've faced hard times
Many foes we've had to fight
But everything we overcame
And we're all here tonight

I give thanks this Christmas Eve
To the Good Lord up above
For Pa, for Adam and for Hoss
And a home so full of love

So Merry Christmas one and all
And have a great New Year
I wish you all a happy time
With those you hold most dear.
A WINTER EVENING

The snow clad mountains turn red as wine
As the day gives way to night
And the lake reflects the sinking sun
In shimmering waves of rosy light

The winter weather is achingly cold
And the young man 'neath the trees
Is eager to get home, but still he pauses
To admire the sight he sees

He watches until the sun has slipped from the sky
And purple twilight has pushed aside the day
Then turns and mounts his horse
And continues on his way

He smiles as he travels through the moonlight
Knowing there's not far to ride
Until he's home, warm by the fire
His family by his side

Home and family, they mean so much
Especially at this time of year
For it is now December
And Christmas is almost here

So as the young man arrives home
And joins his family inside
I send you compliments of the season
Have a wonderful Christmastide.
