Hi, and please allow me introduce myself ... I'm Kathleen, the wicked bitch of the ... whoops, mean wicked witch of the midwest (I've got to get a spell check in here) !!!

Yes, I am a reject of the sixties ... remember bellbottoms, platforms, pedal pushers, AM radio, lava lights, civil rights, mixers, peace marches, granny glasses, Grateful Dead, Vietnam War, assasinations, black lights, love beads, Haight-Ashbury and sexual freedom? Yet every time I'm brave enough to venture into my daughter's room and closet, feels as tho I've stepped back into that wonderful sixties era!!!

I currently hang my love beads in Kansas, as I have for most of my years. Did some time in San Diego back in the 70's, but after wreaking havoc on the Hare Krishnas (oh, I could make them bells jingle), California decided to deport me !!! Actually, family ties drew me back to the midwest. My clan consists of my puter, one wizard, two munchkins, a toto, and a mini-me toto (status can change at any given moment ... depending on which makes the bigger mess) ... *WINK* !!! I am the fourth of four siblings, consisting of one sister and three brothers. Hub is fourth of eight, with five sisters and three brothers.

As my online friends know, my puter and I have bonded ... in fact, my family swears we're siamese twins linked at my fingertips !!! Actually, I do manage to get some enjoyment in those sparse moments spent apart from my ol' Gateway(of course it does take awhile for my eyes to adjust to daylight again) !!! My favorite pastime (alright, my second favorite *GRIN*) is spending time with my children (used to read teenagers, my oh my, how time flies ~sigh~) ... whether it be bleacher warming at sports events, chaperoning, sharing the latest rap cd, watching MTV, trying desperately not to snicker at latest hairdo or outfit (theirs, not mine), or merely asserting myself occasionally with a weak ... 'cause I'm the mom and I said so' !!! I also love curling up with a good book (mostly romance mysteries). I enjoy writing, and hope someday when life slows down (and before the pulse does), to delve into children's books (even if only to encumber my own grandkids). My favorite season is summer, and I have a passion for ferocious thunderstorms with deafening thunder and blinding lightening. I find a crackling fire releasing shadows dancing across the room is a wonderful cleanser of both the mind and soul !! And, although I grew up during a feminist revolution, please hold the door open for me ... makes me feel rather special !!!
