FUNDRAISER BADGE

Dedicated to 13th Bedford (St Andrew's) Guides

  1. Choose a charity, it may be from any country, but not a Blue Peter Appeal. The charity can be your unit.

  2. Collect information on your charity to produce a presentation for your unit or other audience. Include visual aids.

  3. Plan, organise, run, tidy up after, and evaluate a fundraising event of your own. You are recommended to do this with a team. You will have to be able to lead the team and sort out the details of your event. The tester will look for efficient running skills, initiative and communication between you and the persons involved.

  4. Take part in a fundraising event organised by another organisation or person. If possible, a charity with a similar cause as your own. Talk to the tester about the experience and how the idea could be used in other situations.

  5. Show how to keep simple accounts of money raised and sent. Know how to send money to the charity and the methods of sending currency through the postal service and couriers safely.

  1. Make a scrapbook of fund raising activities you have been involved in show this to the tester.
